The Macon News. (September 29, 1965). Cabe attacked. Newspapers.com. Retrieved November 2, 2024
As the White students began to board the three buses, the Black students standing 50 yards away began to move forward; they were met by a line of troopers headed by Captain Theron Alridge.
Aldridge said, “You people have not made any effort to attend the schools in Warren and Greene Counties and have no right to get on these buses. “I have instructions, and you’re not going to ride. Disperse. I ask you to disperse.
The Georgia State Patrol was there to keep the students from getting on the bus and often had to intervene between the KKK, the students, and Civil rights activists.
