This video illustrates how a hurricane that hit Florida can impact Springfield Road in Taliaferro County, Georgia, which is hundreds of miles away. While our area didn't experience tornadoes, we did have significant amounts of water, fallen trees, power outages, and encounters with snakes and turtles (not shown in the video). The footage initially shows Atkison Bridge on a typical fall day, followed by an after-video of the same area. You will observe how the water overflows the culvert, how my yard is soaked from the rain, and the fallen limbs from the pecan tree. Thanks to the courageous electric crews and linemen, the power was restored after 5 days, and county workers continued to clear fallen trees even weeks after the storm. Fortunately, everyone is safe, and our lives have returned to normal, at least for now.
